The constitution of the Development and Welfare Board for the De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC) by the Government is among the most significant steps taken in recent years to facilitate socio-economic empowerment of DNTs.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is responsible for the welfare, social justice, and empowerment of disadvantaged and marginalised sections of society, including Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Victims of Drug Abuse. The primary objective of the Ministry's policies, programs, laws, and institutions is to integrate these target groups into the mainstream of development by making them self-reliant.
