The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to conduct the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026.

Eligibility:
General, Unreserved, and General-EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master's Degree or equivalent examination from recognized institutions. Candidates belonging to OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD/PwBD, and Third Gender categories require a minimum of 50% marks. Alternatively, candidates who have passed a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor's degree program with a minimum of 75% marks (70% for reserved categories) are eligible to apply for JRF and Ph.D. admission. Candidates in their final year or whose results are awaited may also apply provisionally.
Upper Age Limit: Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Not more than 30 years as of the first day of the month in which the examination is concluded (i.e., July 1, 2026). A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD/PwBD, Third Gender categories, women applicants, and those with relevant research experience or armed forces service. Assistant Professor & Ph.D. Admission: There is no upper age limit.
