Scholarship by: Government of Maharashtra, Revenue and Forest Department

Applications are invited from eligible students under the scheme ‘Scholarship for meritorious students for pursuing higher education in foreign universities in the subject of Mangroves and Marine Biodiversity’ for the year 2024-25 The Mangrove Foundation under the aegis of the Revenue and Forest Dept., Govt. of Maharashtra is implementing a scholarship scheme as per the Govt. resolution no. एस-१०/२०२२/प्र.क्र.२९५/फ-३ dated 24/05/2023 and 12/01/2024 for meritorious students from the State of Maharashtra, who will be pursuing a Post Graduate degree or a Ph.D. degree and has secured admission in any Foreign University/Institution which is ranked in the top 300 of THE (Times Higher Education) ranking system or in top 300 of QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranking system under the subject Earth and Marine Sciences. Under the said scheme, the scholarship positions available for Post Graduate degree and Ph.D. are as follows:-

About the Scholarship

• Total Number of Scholarship: 25
  • For Post Graduate: 15
  • For PhD: 10
• Apply on or before: 28/12/2024 by 6:15 PM

Courses: Marine Science, Marine Environmental Science, Marine Policy, Marine Ecology, Mangrove Ecology, Oceanography, Marine Biology, Marine Fisheries, Marine Bio-Technology, Marine Microbiology, Marine Biodiversity, Climate Change and Mangrove Biodiversity/Marine Biology, Carbon Sequestration in Mangroves/Marine Ecosystem, Sea level rise in mangroves, Marine/Coastal Management etc

Conditions:

• The Student and the Student’s parents/guardians should be citizens of India and should be residents of the Maharashtra State.
• For the academic year 2024-25, the Student should have secured admission in any foreign Institution/ University which should be listed in the top 300 of THE (Times Higher Education) ranking system or in the top 300 of QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranking system under the subject Earth and Marine Sciences.
• The annual income of the student (if working) and annual income of his parents/family combined with all other sources of income should not have exceeded Rs. 20 lakhs for the last financial year 2023-24.
• Age Limit- Maximum age limit for the beneficiary should be 35 years for Post Graduate course and 40 years for the Ph.D. course (Age as of 1st November 2024).
• The present scholarship will be applicable to all category students. Out of all the available seats for the scholarship, 30% will be specifically reserved for female students.
